The Social Services Department addresses basic needs issues of Fairfield County individuals and families through LFCAA pantries and a variety of programs.
Community Housing Impact & Preservation or (CHIP). Projects also are aimed at increasing energy efficiency to lower heating and cooling costs.
We provide comprehensive services to pregnant women and children up to 5 years of age through a variety of early childhood programs.
General Election Slated for November 20, 2024
Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency will hold a general election on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 for the purpose of selecting three low income representatives to the agency’s Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted through 10:00 a.m. on 11/20/2024 with ballot voting commencing immediately thereafter and continuing until 3:00 p.m. Voting will take place at the main office, 1743 East Main Street. One third of our tripartite Board of Directors is elected by and represents low income consumers of our services. For this election, only those individuals who reside in Fairfield County, Ohio and whose income is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible to vote or be elected to fill these three open board seats. FOOD PANTRY
Emergency food boxes are available weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Eligible households may receive food once a month. Customers requesting assistance should bring income verification and Social Security cards for all household members.

Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency is committed to assisting low- and moderate-income individuals and families with their need for safe and affordable housing.
HOME WEATHERIZATION
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(HWAP)
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) offers income-qualified homeowners and renters the opportunity to lower residential utility costs by adding weatherization efficiencies. The program helps applicants understand energy audits and provides informational resources to help people make cost-effective, realistic decisions concerning weatherization.

RECYCLING & LITTER PREVENTION
There are many opportunities for recycling right here in Fairfield County. We offer both commercial and residential recycling. With multiple drop off locations including our main recycling center, we actively educate both young and old about ways to reduce, reuse, recycle and to make our cities and towns litter free.
FARMER'S MARKET
Through a partnership with Mid-Ohio Food Bank and local farmers, LFCAA operates a drive-through Farmers’ Market monthly in the spring and summer. Dates will be announced on the agency Facebook page and through local media.
HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE
The agency partners with Charity Newsies, Firefighters Toys for Kids and various churches, businesses and private donors to provide holiday assistance in our community. Individuals interested in Christmas Assistance through Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency need to apply for this program.
